Job summary

HKS, Inc. is seeking a Mental & Behavioral Health Studio Practice Leader to manage the studio and lead multiple project teams in delivering design solutions for behavioral health facilities.

The role emphasizes leadership development, relationship-building, collaboration, and exceptional client service across projects. The incumbent will collaborate with studio and firm leaders to execute strategy, coordinate resources, and ensure the highest quality design documentation with strong client

Qualifications

• Accredited professional degree in Architecture, Interior Design, related field, or equivalent years of experience.
• License or certification in chosen field preferred.
• Typically 15+ years of experience including leadership in project work and talent development.
• Subject matter expertise in MBH facilities and related specialized care settings.

Responsibilities

• Oversees projects assigned to the studio with focus on process, delivery, environment and documentation.
• Leads strategic planning and coordinates studio marketing strategy and resources.
• Partners with Studio Leaders to advance firm-wide goals and client relationships.
• Guides projects from programming through construction documentation and delivery.
• Mentors designers, sets design direction and leads critiques to ensure high-quality outputs.
• Maintains client relationships and manages expectations across projects.
• Monitors staffing, utilization, and growth within the studio and adjusts as needed.
• Reviews conceptual development and inspires the design team for excellence.
