Job summary

Trinity Health IHA Medical Group is seeking a customer-focused Intake Representative who serves as the first connection between patients and their healthcare team. You will perform front-line phone screenings, assign prospective patients to therapists and physicians, and support the intake database and monthly activity reports.

Responsibilities include scheduling appointments, verifying insurance, assisting with MyChart, and coordinating with providers to ensure a seamless patient experience.

Qualifications

• Experience in patient services, medical reception, or call/customer service in a healthcare setting.
• Strong communication and data-entry skills.
• Ability to verify insurance information and schedule appointments.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the first point of contact for patients by phone.
• Provide intake services for outpatient mental health, chemical dependency or psychoeducational services.
• Schedule, confirm, and coordinate patient appointments.
• Answer questions, route calls appropriately, and relay messages to clinical staff.
• Verify patient registration and insurance information.
• Assist patients with MyChart and other patient portal support.
• Support referrals, authorizations, and patient outreach activities.
• Maintain accurate documentation and patient records.
