Job summary

Owen Valley Rehabilitation and Healthcare Center is seeking an experienced nurse to provide direct patient care and supervise nursing assistants. The role emphasizes maintaining high-quality care in a long-term care facility and ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local standards.

The position requires RN or LPN licensure, current CPR, and strong clinical skills. English proficiency and ability to make independent decisions are essential.

Qualifications

• Must be a Registered Nurse (RN) or Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) with a current, unencumbered state license.
• Must read, write, speak, and understand English fluently.
• Ability to make independent decisions when necessary.
• Knowledge of nursing practices, applicable laws, regulations, and guidelines for nursing facilities.
• Current CPR certification is required.
• Experience in Long Term Care is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Direct the day-to-day functions of nursing assistants and plan shift services and activities.
• Complete and file admission/discharge/transfer forms and transcribe physician orders.
• Prepare and administer medications as ordered by the physician.
• Maintain rapport with inter-departmental staff to ensure quality resident care.
• Perform clinical tasks such as catheterization, tube feedings, wound care, and IV site care as needed.
• Monitor staff to ensure safety and proper use of equipment.
• Protect resident confidentiality and privacy in all nursing activities.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
