Job summary

Owen Valley Rehabilitation and Healthcare Center is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse to lead nursing staff and oversee day-to-day care for residents in our facility. You will supervise nursing assistants, coordinate with physicians, admit/discharge residents, and ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations while delivering compassionate, high-quality care.

This role emphasizes leadership, documentation, and teamwork to maintain a safe, supportive environment for residents

Qualifications

• Registered Nurse with a current unencumbered state license.
• Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand the English language.
• Must be able to make independent decisions when circumstances warrant such action.
• Knowledge of nursing and medical practices, procedures, laws, regulations for nursing care facilities.
• Current CPR Certification is required.
• Experience in Long Term Care is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Direct the day-to-day functions of the nursing assistants.
• Meet with assigned nursing staff and support personnel to plan shift services and activities.
• Admit, transfer and discharge residents as required.
• Provide leadership to nursing personnel on the unit/shift.
• Complete and file required recordkeeping forms upon admission/transfer/discharge.
• Administer medications as ordered by physicians.
• Create and maintain a warm, calm atmosphere on the unit and shift.
• Receive/give nursing reports at shift change and rounds with physicians as needed.
