Job summary

The RN at Owen Valley Rehabilitation and Healthcare Center provides direct nursing care to residents and supervises nursing assistants to ensure quality care in accordance with current standards and regulations.

You will lead shift planning, chart nursing notes, administer medications as ordered, and collaborate with physicians and other departments to maintain a compassionate, efficient and safe care environment for residents.

Qualifications

• Registered Nurse with a current unencumbered state license.
• Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand English.
• Must be able to make independent decisions when circumstances warrant such action.
• Knowledgeable of nursing practices, laws, regulations governing nursing facilities.
• Current CPR Certification is required.
• Experience in Long Term Care is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Direct the day-to-day functions of the nursing assistants.
• Meet with assigned nursing staff to plan shift services and activities.
• Admit, transfer and discharge residents as required.
• Provide leadership to nursing personnel on the unit/shift.
• Complete and file required charting and forms for admissions, transfers, and discharges.
• Record physician orders and transcribe them accurately.
• Chart nursing notes reflecting care provided and resident response.
• Administer medications as ordered by the physician.
• Maintain confidentiality of resident care information and ensure privacy.
