Job summary

Cogir Senior Living is seeking a Memory Care Director for our Chesapeake community. You will lead resident care services in the Memory Care neighborhood, train staff, support care plan execution, and maintain family communication.

You will oversee medication programs, assess residents, collaborate with Lifestyle team for programming, and ensure regulatory compliance. Candidates should have 3–5 years in memory care, plus supervisory dementia experience.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years’ experience in assisted living/memory care.
• 2+ years in a dementia-focused supervisory role.
• Proficient with Excel and Word.
• High accuracy, strong time management and ethics.
• Excellent communication and teamwork; able to motivate staff.
• Ability to work evenings/weekends and on-call rotation.
• Meet mandatory health requirements for state regulations.
• Compassionate approach to residents with dementia.

Responsibilities

• Provide training and orientation to care staff in Memory Care.
• Recruit, supervise, and schedule care staff as per policy.
• Maintain the medication program under Health and Wellness oversight.
• Assist with assessments and reassessments of residents.
• Serve as the contact for non-clinical memory care issues.
• Ensure high resident satisfaction through quality services.
• Maintain accurate resident records and charting.
• Support engagement in Cogir Signature Lifestyle programming.
• Provide support for distressed behaviors with non-pharmacologic plans.
• Communicate with families about care plans and progress.
• Ensure compliance with state and local regulations.
• Assist with daily living activities as needed.
