Job summary

Cogir Senior Living in Alexandria, VA is seeking a Memory Care Director to lead the overall delivery and coordination of care in the community's Memory Care neighborhood. You will train and supervise memory care staff, support care plan execution, and communicate with residents' families to ensure quality service.

You'll partner with the Lifestyle team to design activities that meet residents' interests and well-being.

Qualifications

• Degree in gerontology, nursing, social work, or related field preferred.
• CDP certification preferred or equivalent to experience and formal dementia training.
• Must meet qualifications to support resident ADL care and medication administration per state requirements.

Responsibilities

• Provide training and orientation to Care Partners and Medication Care Partners, coaching on Cogir Revere Memory Care culture and standards.
• Assist in recruiting, supervising, and scheduling care staff according to policies and standards.
• Maintain medication program under Health and Wellness Director oversight.
• Assist in assessments/reassessments of residents according to policies.
• Act as contact for non-clinical issues related to resident care in Memory Care.
• Maintain high resident satisfaction through delivering high-quality services.
• Ensure resident records and charting are current.
• Collaborate with Lifestyles team to support Cogir Signature Lifestyle programming for residents.
• Support distressed behavior through validation and non-pharmacologic care plan interventions.
• Provide emotional support and education to families experiencing dementia.
• Understand community care regulations and state-specific regulations.
• Assist with residents’ daily living activities as needed.
• Maintain current departmental policies, procedures, and licenses per requirements.
