Job summary

Benchmark Senior Living in Alexandria is seeking a Mind & Memory Care Director to lead memory care services for residents with cognitive impairment. You will recruit, onboard and supervise Harbor Resident Care Associates, coordinate care plans with the Resident Care Director (RN), and ensure quality, safety, and family satisfaction.

You will manage budgets, participate in local Alzheimer’s partnerships, and promote ongoing staff development, mentoring, and coaching to sustain an exemplary care

Qualifications

• BA/BS degree in a health science related field or equivalent work experience.
• Minimum of 3 years memory care experience.
• Completion of Dementia care certification CDP within six months.
• Within the first year: Dementia Live and Compass training.
• Must have strong supervisory, leadership and management skills.
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, and ability to relate to a diverse resident and associate population.

Responsibilities

• Provide supervision, coaching, recognition, engagement and performance evaluations on all Harbor Resident Care Associates.
• Maintaining an engaging, homelike environment with opportunities for residents to engage.
• Supporting and monitoring day-to-day delivery of quality resident services resulting in high resident, family and associate satisfaction.
• Schedules all staff for 24/7 delivery of services with the Memory Care Program while monitoring labor hours to budget.
• Developing, coordinating and implementing all care and services for residents with cognitive impairment.
• Partner with the Resident Care Director (RN) to ensure services align with the resident service plan.
• Supporting the residents’ family, friends and significant others as ongoing caregivers and members of the caregiving team.
• Communicating frequently with family members; managing department budget.
• Attending and actively participating in local Alzheimer’s Association Chapters or partnerships.
