Job summary

YMCA of Metropolitan Los Angeles in Los Angeles, CA seeks a Belonging and Well-Being Champion at Anderson Munger YMCA. This part-time role (up to 29 hours) focuses on belonging, wellness and member engagement, combining frontline service with sales and program connections.

You will greet members, connect them to programs, support healthy living goals, process memberships, and help grow engagement while upholding YMCA values and safety policies.

Qualifications

• Education requirement: High school diploma preferred or Bachelor’s degree in Physical Education, Kinesiology, Exercise Science, Business, or related field preferred.
• Specialized skills: strong interpersonal and communication skills; ability to inspire others, handle multiple priorities, and work across departments; proficiency in Microsoft Office and member management systems.
• Related experience: 1–2 years of experience in membership sales, customer service, or health and wellness coaching preferred.
• Certifications: CPR/First Aid/AED certifications current or willingness to obtain within 30 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Create a welcoming, inclusive, and supportive environment in all YMCA areas by greeting and engaging with members and guests.
• Build relationships with members to understand goals and connect them to programs, wellness services, and community activities.
• Facilitate small-group connections to enhance member belonging and long-term engagement.
• Conduct onboarding sessions and wellness consultations to help members set and achieve healthy living goals.
• Respond promptly to all member inquiries and resolve issues with care and accountability.
