Responsibilities

• Honor the YMCA of Southern Maine's Promise Statement; promote equity and inclusion.
• Develop positive, authentic relationships within the Y to raise awareness of the Y's mission and impact, and drive revenue.
• Greet all members and guests and provide accurate information in person and on the phone.
• Learn current and prospective members' needs through questioning and listening to tailor the Y's offerings.
• Maintain accurate data tracking and documentation; register members and process payments; reconcile cash drawer.
• Other duties as required.

Under the supervision of the Membership Director, the full-time Membership Services Representative builds relationships with members and provide helpful, friendly and professional customer service. They are responsible for ensuring the membership department conveys the mission, purpose, image and core values of the YMCA of Southern Maine.

Schedule

Wednesday: 11am-8pm (w/1/2 hr lunch)
Thursday: 11am-8pm (w/1/2 hr lunch)
Friday: 11am-8pm (w/1/2 hr lunch)
Saturday: 7:45am-4pm (w/1/2 hr lunch)

Essential Functions

Greet all members and guests and provide excellent customer service on the phone and in person by providing complete and accurate information to members. Learn current and prospective member's needs and interests through appropriate questioning and listening techniques highlight how the Y can meet these needs and interests. Listens and expresses self effectively and with an understanding of the needs of a particular audience.
• Personal Growth - Maintains a high degree of emotional maturity and interpersonal skills and is committed to personal growth and skill acquisition.
• Operations & Safety - Demonstrates clear knowledge and understanding of YMCA of Southern Maine membership policies and procedures by accurately conveying and implementing with members. Is knowledgeable on all programs and membership events. Incorporates YMCA mission and core values in daily interactions with members.
• Data Tracking & Documentation -Maintains accurate and consistent data tracking and documentation, as required. Registers members into programs including completion of all paperwork, receipt of monies and data input into software system. Manages all monetary transactions accurately including: accepting payments, issuing receipts, providing change and reconciling cash drawer at completion of shift. Processes all membership transactions effectively and accurately.
