Job summary

The YMCA of the Virginia Peninsulas is seeking a Membership Experience Director to lead membership acquisition, engagement, and retention at designated centers. Under the supervision of the Membership Experience Executive, you will develop strategies to welcome, connect, and serve members, guests, and staff with enthusiasm and high-quality service.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in a related field preferred.
• Must have minimum two (2) years’ supervisory experience.
• Must have ability to interact with people from all ethnic backgrounds, ages, and lifestyles.
• Must have working knowledge of computers and experience with a variety of software applications.
• Must possess good written and verbal communication skills.
• Certification in CPR/First Aid/AED/O2 required within 60 days of hire.
• Complete and maintain required trainings to include: New Employee Orientation (NEO), Bloodborne Pathogens, Child Abuse Prevention (CAP), and Sexual Harassment.
• Satisfactory completion of a criminal background check and Child Protective Services check.

• Develop, retain, and promote membership in the community and within the Y.
• Provide direction and enthusiasm in the development, retention and promotion of membership.
