Job summary

YMCA of the Virginia Peninsulas in Smithfield is seeking a Membership Experience Director to drive membership growth, engagement, and retention while delivering high-quality service to members and guests.

You will lead a team, set annual goals, collaborate with marketing, and participate in association initiatives to strengthen community impact and program participation. This is a full-time, on-site leadership role.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree preferred in a related field.
• Minimum two years of supervisory experience.
• Ability to interact with diverse people and cultures.
• Proficient computer skills and software experience.
• Strong written and verbal communication abilities.
• CPR/First Aid/AED/O2 certification within 60 days of hire.
• Complete required trainings and pass background checks.

Responsibilities

• Drive membership enrollment, engagement and retention goals.
• Lead a membership team and promote excellent service.
• Collaborate with marketing on outreach and communications.
• Plan and execute community events and membership promotions.
• Monitor KPIs and adjust plans to hit targets.
• Ensure member experience is positive and inclusive.
