Job summary

The YMCA of the Virginia Peninsulas is seeking a Membership Experience Staff member to deliver outstanding member service under supervision, welcoming and engaging members and guests, scanning members and processing new enrollments as needed. You will support the Welcome Center, programs, and safety protocols while representing the YMCA values in daily interactions.

Responsibilities include maintaining daily Welcome Center operations, answering phones, giving tours, completing paperwork in YMCA

Qualifications

• Must be 16 years or older.
• YMCA experience in member services or related field preferred.
• Ability to interface with software and phone systems.
• Strong math skills for handling money and accounting in YMCA systems.
• Professional business communication skills.
• CPR/First Aid/AED/O2/CAP certification within 60 days of hire.
• Complete required trainings: NEO, Bloodborne Pathogens, CAP, Sexual Harassment.
• Background checks and CPS checks completed.

Responsibilities

• Greet and check-in members and guests, processing new members as needed.
• Manage Welcome Center daily operations and ensure cleanliness.
• Answer multiple-line phones with YMCA greeting and assist inquiries.
• Give tours to current and prospective members and promote programs.
• Complete membership paperwork and data entry in YMCA systems.
• Support fundraising efforts such as Annual Campaigns and United Way.
• Follow safety plans, guidelines, and incident reporting procedures.
• Attend staff meetings and trainings as scheduled.
