Job summary

Associated Builders and Contractors Northern California (ABC NorCal) is seeking a dynamic Director of Membership & Business Development to drive membership growth and retention across Northern California. You will be out in the field, attending networking events, meeting contractors and business leaders, and developing new business while building long-term relationships.

A strong background in business development and a track record of closing opportunities is essential.

Qualifications

• Five or more years of successful business development, sales, membership development or account management experience.
• Ability to generate leads, develop relationships and close new business.
• Comfortable initiating conversations with business owners and executives.
• Experience with consultative selling and uncovering business needs.

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute strategies to recruit new members and retain existing members.
• Build and maintain an active pipeline of prospective members across Northern California.
• Meet with contractors and business leaders to understand needs and communicate the value of ABC NorCal membership.
• Develop new relationships, nurture existing relationships and convert prospects into long-term members.
• Conduct regular member visits to strengthen engagement and support retention.
• Develop lead-generation and outreach strategies using industry relationships and resources.
• Lead membership recruitment campaigns, retention initiatives and new-member orientations.
• Coordinate and support the Membership Committee and other volunteer leaders.
• Maintain accurate prospect and member activity in the CRM.
• Establish annual membership recruitment and retention goals and track results.
• Manage the membership recruitment and retention budget.
• Represent ABC NorCal at networking events and industry meetings.
• Provide regular membership activity and performance updates to the President & CEO.
