Job summary

Associated Builders and Contractors Northern California (ABC NorCal) is seeking a dynamic Director of Membership & Business Development to lead membership growth and retention across Northern California. This field-facing role involves networking events, meeting contractors and business leaders, and closing opportunities to drive value for members.

Reporting to the President & CEO, you will manage pipelines, develop programs, and lead campaigns while traveling throughout Northern California.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of successful business development, sales, membership development, account management or relationship-management experience.
• Demonstrated ability to generate leads, develop relationships and close new business.
• Comfortable initiating conversations with business owners and executives.
• Understanding of consultative selling to uncover business needs.
• Outgoing, energetic, and comfortable networking and representing an organization.

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute strategies to recruit new members and retain existing members.
• Build and maintain an active pipeline of prospective members throughout Northern California.
• Meet with contractors and business leaders to communicate the value of ABC NorCal membership.
• Develop new relationships, nurture existing relationships and convert prospects into long-term members.
• Conduct regular member visits to strengthen engagement and support retention.
• Lead membership recruitment campaigns, retention initiatives and new-member orientations.
• Coordinate and support the Membership Committee and other volunteer leaders.
• Maintain accurate prospect and member activity in the CRM.
