Job summary

The YMCA of Greater Grand Rapids is seeking a friendly Member Services Representative to greet members, answer questions, and direct callers. You will manage the membership desk, process payments, and provide information on programs in person or by phone.

Qualifications include a high school diploma/GED, customer service or data-entry experience, basic computer skills, and the ability to handle money accurately. Morning, evening, and weekend availability is required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma, GED, or working toward GED.
• 1–3 months customer service, sales, or data entry experience.
• Ability and desire to provide outstanding customer service and a friendly demeanor.
• Past cash handling experience preferred; ability to learn proprietary software to enter/edit member information.

Responsibilities

• Greets members in person and on the phone.
• Directs callers to the appropriate staff.
• Monitors access to the building.
• Provides information on YMCA services and programs.
• Makes follow-up tour and member referral phone calls.
• Authorizes refunds.
• Maintains membership files.
• Sells YMCA membership.
• Registers YMCA guests.
• Registers program participants for YMCA programs, classes, and events.
• Maintains lobby and front desk areas in a clean, presentable fashion.
• Gives tours to prospective and new members.
• Receives, counts, and tracks monies received.
• Assists with member appreciation days.
