Job summary

Self-Help is seeking a Member Service Representative to join our team in the United States, NC region. You will handle member transactions, open accounts, promote loan products, and assist with outreach at local events.

The role emphasizes accuracy, strong customer service, and adherence to regulatory procedures. Responsibilities include cash handling, performing routine account maintenance, and providing information about credit union services.

Qualifications

• High School graduate or equivalent.
• Bilingual in English/Spanish highly preferred but not required.
• Minimum one year experience in financial institution or other customer service industry preferred.
• Prior cash handling and customer service responsibilities preferred.
• Preference for teamwork and collaboration.
• Strong commitment to our mission of creating economic opportunity.

Responsibilities

• Initiate and lead conversations to identify and assess member needs.
• Maintain and enhance member account relationships with excellent service.
• Process share deposits, loan payments, manual payrolls, and account transfers.
• Disburse cash and check withdrawals and balance cash drawer daily.
• Open new membership accounts and ensure accuracy/compliance.
• Promote credit union products and refer loan products to relevant departments.
• Perform outbound member contacts as needed and support branch growth.
• Travel to local events as required; weekends may be needed.
• Observe security controls and detect fraudulent activity.
