Job summary

Self-Help is seeking a motivated Member Service Representative in Durham, NC. You will engage with members to assess needs, process transactions, and promote credit union services while upholding security and compliance.

The role requires at least a High School diploma, bilingual English/Spanish preferred, and 1 year of customer service or financial experience. Flexible hours including evenings/weekends may be required.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• Minimum one year experience in financial institution or customer service preferred.
• Prior cash handling and customer service responsibilities preferred.

Responsibilities

• Initiate and lead conversations to identify and assess member needs.
• Maintain and enhance member account relationships with excellent service.
• Process share deposit payments, loan payments, payrolls, and transfers.
• Disburse cash and check withdrawals.
• Complete member transactions accurately within guidelines.
• Open new membership accounts and ensure accuracy/compliance.
• Research and address inquiries about credit union services.
• Promote credit union products and refer loans as needed.
• Achieve branch growth goals and identify solutions for members.
• Observe security controls and prevent fraudulent activity.
• Support MSR II tasks as needed.
• Travel to local events; weekends may be required.
