Job summary

The YMCA of Bethany is hiring a Member Services Associate to welcome guests, answer questions and support front-desk operations. This role requires courteous service, basic computer skills and ability to lift 30 pounds.

Starting at $10.00 per hour, full-time hours vary. Must be 18+, CPR/AED/First Aid certified (training provided if needed) and able to communicate effectively with members and staff in a friendly, community-focused environment.

Qualifications

• Must have strong customer service orientation and professional communication.
• Experience in a service-oriented environment is preferred.
• Proficiency with basic computer systems and cash handling is required.

Responsibilities

• Provide member services such as tours, answer and direct phone calls, guest registration, provide program information, accept payments, schedule appointments, rent lockers, stock and distribute towels.
• Serve as liaison between members and program supervisors.
• Handle and resolve member inquiries, concerns and complaints.
• Monitor facility as required.
• Carry out other duties as assigned.
• Demonstrate the positive values of caring, honesty, respect and responsibility.
• Attend scheduled staff meetings.
• Stay off personal electronic devices while on shift.
• Develop meaningful relationships with members, donors and volunteers.

POSITION DESCRIPTION:

This position is responsible for serving members and guests, maintaining member service control, answering the telephone, answering member questions and performing various clerical duties.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Provide member services such as membership tours, answer and direct phone calls, guest registration, provide program information, accept payment/cash register/receipts, schedule appointments, rent lockers, stock and distribute towels.
• Serve as liaison between members and program supervisors.
• Handle and solve member inquiries, concerns and complaints.
• Monitor facility as required.
• Carry out other duties as assigned.
• Accept and demonstrate the positive character values of caring, honesty, respect and responsibility.
• Attend Scheduled Staff Meeting.
• Stay off all personal electronic items; cell phones, i pads,
• Develop meaningful and sustainable relationships with members, donors and volunteers.

Requirements

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

• Must be certified in PR/CPR, AED, O2, and First Aid. (Training provided by the Y, if needed)
• Must be 18 years of age or older.
• Have strong verbal interpersonal and communication skills, experience in a service-oriented environment, computer skills and accuracy.
• Must be able to lift 30 pounds.
