Job summary

Maine Savings is seeking a Member Service Representative/Loan Officer at our Hampden location to provide friendly service, explain products, and assist members with lending and account needs. You will interview applicants, process loan applications, and ensure regulatory compliance, while supporting tellers and promoting digital banking.

You will also promote cross-sell opportunities, help maintain accurate records, and contribute to a positive member experience in a community-focused credit

Qualifications

• 3-5 years of similar or related experience preferred.
• Strong written and verbal communication.
• Ability to work at Hampden location and potentially other branches.
• Knowledge of loan products and cross-sell opportunities.

Responsibilities

• Provide friendly, prompt, professional service to members and coworkers and explain products and cross-sell opportunities.
• Interview members for loan applications and deliver loan decisions promptly.
• Ensure loan collateral is properly insured and comply with relevant policies and cybersecurity trainings.
• Assist the Teller line and support Digital Banking as needed.

Join our team as a Member Service Representative/ Loan Officer!

About the role:

Maine Savings Federal Credit Union is looking for an MSR/Loan Officer for our Hampden location, and your mission is to foster cooperation with members and build their trust by relaying your knowledge of how our products can have a positive impact in their financial lives. Preferred experience with knowledge base in retail banking, processing loan approvals and denials, opening/closing accounts, and have a passion for helping others.

What You'll Do

• Provides friendly, prompt, professional and accurate service to members and coworkers. Help our members understand our products- ranging from unsecured personal, secure vehicle loans, VISA and debt consolidation loans as well as cross sell opportunities and make recommendations.
• Communicates with and interviews members for consumer loan applications while ensuring that we are compliant with credit union policies, exclusive of equities. Deliver loan decision to member within minutes of their application.
• Confirms that all loan collateral is properly insured, demonstrates an understanding and compliance of regulatory and cybersecurity trainings as they relate to workflow.
• Periodically assists the Teller line, processing members’ financial transactions and balances cash drawer. Demonstrates competency in Digital Banking.

Experience With Consumer Lending Is Preferred

Schedule is 8am-5pm Monday - Friday at the Hampden location, with rotational Saturday availability at the Broadway location. Required floating to other branches as needed.

Requirements

3-5 years of similar or related experience preferred.

• Prior experience in working with others inside and outside the organization for the purpose of first-level conflict resolution, building relationships, and soliciting cooperation.
• Working knowledge skills both written and verbal.
• Ability to work out of other branches as needed.
• Work environment is physically located in the Branch.
