Job summary

Mainstreet Credit Union in Kansas City, KS is seeking a dynamic Member Development Officer to foster member relationships, drive market development, and partner with other lines of business to grow membership. The role emphasizes personalized financial solutions, outreach events, and education to enhance members’ financial health.

The position requires strong relationship-building, consultative meetings, and the ability to work flexible hours including evenings and weekends.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, economics or business administration preferred.
• Three years of financial institution, sales and/or advising, and customer service experience required.
• One to three years’ consumer lending (processing, underwriting or closing) experience in a financial institution required.
• Must meet all criteria for registration in the Nationwide Mortgage Licensing System (NMLS).
• FiCEP Certification program within 12 months of hire.

Responsibilities

• Establish and grow the member base and market awareness of Mainstreet Credit Union around the assigned branch.
• Conduct consultative meetings with members and prospective members to assess and address financial goals, recommending relevant products and services.
• Support local market outreach efforts, build relationships with local businesses, and participate in events to promote Mainstreet’s services and grow membership.
• Build and maintain strong member relationships through proactive communication methods such as outbound calls, emails, onboarding, and follow-ups.
• Provide personalized financial counseling and education to improve members' financial health.
• Assist with account openings including checking, shares, certificates, IRAs, and Trust accounts; process and audit transactions; balance cash drawer.
