Job summary

MSU Federal Credit Union seeks a Financial Services Specialist to deliver superior, personalized member service and tailored financial recommendations. The role emphasizes cross-selling, risk-aware transaction processing, and proactive member education to enhance financial wellbeing.

The position is onsite at the Sashabaw and Ortonville Branches with a 40-hour schedule, including some Saturdays. Benefits include comprehensive health premiums, PTO, holidays, and a 401(k) match.

Qualifications

• High school diploma, GED or equivalent.
• Availability to work during branch hours, including Saturdays, and to support other locations to meet needs across the branch network.

Responsibilities

• Actively listen to uncover each member’s stated and unstated financial needs, conduct a comprehensive analysis of their financial profile, and recommend tailored solutions that support their long-term financial well-being, while cross-selling complementary products and services.
• Identify and sell products and services, provide personalized financial education to enhance member experience, and achieve goals.
• Ensure accurate processing of member transactions in alignment with processes and procedures, maintaining operational integrity and a high standard of service.
• Review member transactions for red flags, verify identity, and coordinate with Fraud Department to ensure timely investigation and resolution.
• Process business account transactions with risk-mitigation while reviewing each member’s position to recommend products and referrals.
• Promote and guide members in using Credit Union technology to empower financial management.
• Engage in branch and self-paced training to strengthen competencies for future growth.
• Build relationships with members through outbound calls and community events to grow deposits and cross-sell.
• Support cross-departmental tasks to enhance efficiency and productivity across the Credit Union.
