Job summary

YMCA of the Virginia Peninsulas is seeking a Membership Experience Staff member to deliver an outstanding member experience. You will greet members, process check-ins, give facility tours, and support daily Welcome Center operations to ensure a welcoming environment.

You will also handle phone inquiries, maintain space cleanliness, and participate in trainings. The role emphasizes professional interaction, safety compliance, and contribution to fundraising efforts within the center.

Qualifications

• Age 18 or older.
• YMCA experience preferred in member services or related field.
• Interface with basic software programs and phone systems.
• Able to perform math for money handling and accounting procedures.
• Professional communication skills.
• CPR/First Aid/AED/O2/CAP certification required within 60 days of hire.
• Complete trainings: NEO, Bloodborne Pathogens, CAP, Sexual Harassment.
• Background checks including CPS required.

Responsibilities

• Greet, check-in, and welcome members and guests; process new memberships.
• Give facility tours to current and prospective members.
• Answer multiple-line phones with YMCA greeting.
• Maintain cleanliness and supply levels in the Welcome Center.
• Attend staff meetings and trainings as scheduled.
• Ensure safety and compliance with Emergency Operations Plan (EOP).
• Promote YMCA fundraising efforts and community involvement.
• Perform related duties to ensure excellent member experience.
