Job summary

The YMCA seeks a Member Experience Representative in United States, North Carolina, to boost member engagement, growth and retention by building authentic relationships with members, guests and program participants.

You will welcome members, conduct tours, explain benefits of membership, and connect people with staff, programs and volunteer opportunities. Administrative duties include processing IDs, guest passes and program registrations, plus responding to inquiries.

Qualifications

• 18 years of age or older.
• Associate’s degree, two years related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience preferred.
• Computer skills and the ability to learn appropriate computer programs related to the position.
• Excellent customer service skills.
• Strong verbal communication skills.
• Outgoing personality and a desire to be helpful to others.
• Must be able to stand for the majority of shift.
• Current CPR/First Aid/AED/Oxygen administration certification or obtain within 30 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Greet and assist all members, potential members and staff in a professional and friendly manner.
• Conduct tours with prospective members, explaining benefits of membership and the YMCA mission.
• Meet with wellness staff to schedule new member uFit sessions and connect members to appropriate staff or programs.
• Process new member IDs, issue guest passes and register members for services and programs.
• Respond to phone inquiries and know the facility's emergency procedures.
• Assist with the Annual Giving Campaign and be knowledgeable about program areas.
