Job summary

The YMCA of the Virginia Peninsulas is seeking a Membership Experience Director to lead membership growth, engagement, and retention at assigned centers. You will deliver outstanding service to members and guests and collaborate with center leaders to welcome, connect, and engage all community members.

Reporting to the Membership Experience Executive, you will develop annual plans, oversee member onboarding, coordinate events, and ensure operations meet budget and KPI targets while promoting

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a related field preferred.
• Minimum two years of supervisory experience.
• Ability to interact with people from diverse backgrounds.
• Working knowledge of computers and office software.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• CPR/First Aid/AED/O2 certification within 60 days of hire.
• Complete trainings including NEO, Bloodborne Pathogens, CAP, and Sexual Harassment.
• Background checks including criminal and Child Protective Services.

Responsibilities

• Supports the YMCA mission, vision and goals.
• Promotes a professional work environment through core values.
• Leads in ways that strengthen community through youth development, healthy living and social responsibility.
• Promotes and participates in association task forces and committees.
• Promotes YMCA fundraising efforts including Annual and Capital Campaigns.
• Develops annual membership growth and retention goals.
• Drives membership enrollment and revenue targets.
• Identifies prospects and converts them to members.
• Conducts prospect tours and coaches staff on tours.
• Monitors enrollment KPIs and reports weekly.
• Owns member/guest experience and ensures satisfaction.
• Collaborates with marketing on communications.
• Plans community events for awareness and recruitment.
• Coordinates special events and promotions.
• Promotes Guardian program and evaluates Guardian Applications.
