Job summary

The YMCA of Greater Boston is seeking a part-time Welcome Center Representative at Menino YMCA to greet members, manage check-in, provide information on programs, and support sales and service needs. Under supervision of the Director of Membership Sales & Service, you will handle phone inquiries, process transactions, and uphold safety and facility policies.

The ideal candidate delivers friendly, efficient service, works well in a fast-paced lobby, and is available for weekday afternoons,

Qualifications

• Provide excellent member service by exceeding member expectations and being welcoming.
• Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
• Use Listen First skills to build relationships with members and prospects.
• Make eye contact with members and greet them warmly.
• Ask members how they are doing as they enter the facility or during classes.

Responsibilities

• Present a welcoming and friendly demeanor when greeting and serving members and program participants.
• Arrive on time, ready to begin work, dressed in uniform with YMCA name tag.
• Enforce YMCA safety and membership policies at all times.
• Work independently and solve problems to serve members.
• Be available to cover shifts including opening, closing, and weekends.
• Conduct prospective member tours as needed.
• Take member and non-member phone calls per YMCA policies.
• Communicate YMCA policies effectively to members and staff.
• Handle cashing out, balance daily transactions, and drop envelopes in safe.
• Maintain a neat workspace during shifts and clean up on leaving.
• Respond to emergencies and assist in care of victims.
• Attend staff meetings and collaborate as a team member.
• Perform all other duties as assigned.
