Job summary

Walnut Creek Family YMCA is seeking a part-time Welcome Center Associate to deliver consistently excellent service to members, guests and program participants, while promoting the YMCA's mission and core values. The role requires weekend morning coverage with Sundays 7:30am–4pm and additional shifts on Mondays and Saturdays; pay rate is $11.00–$13.00 per hour, with applications reviewed on a rolling basis.

Requires basic computer skills, cash handling experience, and CPR/First Aid certification

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Minimum 6 months of work experience with cash handling.
• Ability to read, write, and perform simple math.
• CPR/First Aid/AED certification before starting.
• Child Abuse Prevention Training before starting and maintained annually.
• Training to be completed within first 30 days and maintained afterwards.
• Perform basic computer skills using membership software, time clock, and online training.

Responsibilities

• Provides excellent service to members, guests, and program participants in the Y and on the phone, contributing to member retention.
• Conduct interviews and/or tours responsive to the needs of prospective members; sell memberships.
• Builds relationships with members; helps members connect with one another and the YMCA.
• Handles and resolves membership concerns and informs supervisor of unusual situations or unresolved issues.
• Applies all YMCA policies dealing with member services.
• Maintains facility appearance and ensure safety measures are in place.
• Perform additional duties as assigned by supervisor or designated staff person.
• Demonstrate and support the objectives of the Association as embodied in the mission statement and values.
