Job summary

The Grand Traverse Bay YMCA in Traverse City, MI, is seeking a part-time Membership Services Representative to greet members, answer questions, and help newcomers connect with the Y experience. You will provide friendly customer service, conduct tours, process memberships, and support a fast-paced front desk in a team-oriented, community-focused environment.

CPR/AED and First Aid certifications are required within 30 days of hire, and a flexible schedule including evenings and weekends is

Qualifications

At least 16 years of age.
Excellent interpersonal and problem‑solving skills.
Ability to relate effectively to diverse groups of people from all social and economic segments of the community.
Previous customer service, sales or related experience.
Basic knowledge of computers.

Responsibilities

Responds to the individual needs of members and program participants.
Provides top-tier service to members, guests, and program participants in the Y and on the phone, contributing to member retention and acquisition.
Conducts interviews and/or tours responsive to the needs of prospective members; sells memberships.
Builds positive relationships with members; helps members connect with one another and the YMCA.
Serves others by intentionally welcoming, connecting, and supporting members, and inviting them to get involved and give back to the community.
Handles and resolves membership concerns and informs supervisor of unusual situations or unresolved issues.
