Job summary

Self-Help Credit Union in Gainesville is seeking a friendly Member Service Representative to join our team. You will engage with members, handle deposits and payments, open new accounts, and promote our services while providing exceptional customer service.

The role requires cash handling experience, a high school diploma, and the ability to communicate in English (Spanish helpful). Training will cover our systems, including proprietary software, Excel and Outlook; weekend/evening shifts may be

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Bilingual in English/Spanish highly preferred but not required.
• Minimum one year experience in financial institution or customer service.
• Prior cash handling and customer service responsibilities preferred.
• Ability to operate credit union systems and proprietary software including Excel, Word and Outlook.

Responsibilities

• Initiate and lead conversations to identify and assess member needs.
• Maintain and enhance member account relationships with excellent service.
• Process share and loan payments, payrolls, and transfers.
• Disburse cash and check withdrawals.
• Open new membership accounts and verify accuracy and compliance.
• Address inquiries about credit union services and accounts.
• Promote credit union products and services.
• Refer loan products to appropriate departments and make outbound calls as needed.
• Support branch growth goals and protect security controls.
