Job summary

Self-Help Federal Credit Union seeks a Member Service Representative in Gainesville, FL to provide outstanding member service, handle deposits/withdrawals, open accounts and promote credit union products. You will balance cash, ensure accuracy, and support branch growth while maintaining security controls.

The role requires a high school diploma, cash handling experience, and strong communication skills, with English/Spanish bilingualism preferred.

Qualifications

• High School graduate or equivalent.
• Bilingual in English/Spanish highly preferred but not required.
• Minimum one year experience in financial institution or other customer service industry preferred.
• Prior cash handling and customer service responsibilities preferred.
• Ability to work flexible work hours including evenings and weekends.
• Strong commitment to our mission and excellent customer service.

Responsibilities

• Initiate and lead conversations to identify and assess member needs.
• Process share deposit payments, loan payments, manual payrolls, and account transfers.
• Disburse cash and check withdrawals; balance cash drawer daily.
• Open new membership accounts and assess for accuracy and compliance.
• Promote credit union products and services; refer to loan departments as needed.
• Perform outbound calls to members and assist with translations if needed.
