Job summary

Self-Help in Gainesville, FL is seeking a Member Service Representative to deliver exceptional member service, open and maintain accounts, and process deposits and loan payments. You will handle cash, verify transactions, and promote credit union products to meet branch goals.

Qualifications

• High School graduate or equivalent.
• Minimum one year experience in financial institution or other customer service industry preferred.
• Prior cash handling and customer service responsibilities preferred.
• Preference for teamwork and collaboration.

• Excellent customer service skills.
• Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively – both verbally and in writing.
• Ability to be trained and efficiently operate credit union systems and proprietary software, including New Solutions, Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook.
• Ability to work flexible hours including evenings and weekends.
• May be required to travel to cover other Branches.
• Keen attention to detail and ability to prioritize work.
• Analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to type and enter data.

Responsibilities

• Identify and assess member needs and provide superior service.
• Process share deposits, loan payments, payrolls, and transfers.
• Disburse cash and checks and complete transactions accurately.
• Open new membership accounts and ensure accuracy/compliance.
• Promote credit union products and refer loans as appropriate.
• Respond to member inquiries about services and accounts.
• Maintain knowledge of loans to effectively refer products.
• Balance cash drawer and observe security controls.
• Support branch growth and respond to requests promptly.
