Job summary

The Regional YMCA of Western Connecticut is seeking a Membership Service Representative to support front desk operations, member registration, and inquiry handling. The role emphasizes a welcoming, professional environment to promote member growth and retention while maintaining accurate cash receipts and reports.

This position requires strong customer service skills, the ability to relate to diverse communities, and the willingness to complete required safety trainings.

Qualifications

• Experience in customer service and ability to interact with diverse groups.
• Supervisory responsibility preferred, with ability to guide staff.
• Proficient with standard business software and MS Office.
• Willingness to complete required trainings (Child Abuse Prevention, Blood-borne Pathogens, Sexual Harassment).

Responsibilities

• Greet members, program participants and guests at the Y.
• Collect and monitor membership cards for accuracy.
• Process registrations and issue computer-generated receipts.
• Maintain front desk operations and professional appearance.
• Answer phones and route inquiries to the proper staff.
• Provide tours and information on policies and schedules.
• Ensure access is restricted to paid members and approved guests.
• Communicate issues to the Member Engagement Director or on-duty Director.
