Job summary

The YMCA of Greater Hartford is seeking a Member Service Representative in Hartford, CT. You will deliver exceptional service to members, guests, and potential members, handling membership and program inquiries, registrations, and payments at the front desk.

You will work under the Membership Director, ensuring accurate information, smooth lobby operations, and adherence to YMCA policies while contributing to member retention initiatives and program promotions.

Qualifications

• Excellent interpersonal and problem solving skills.
• Ability to connect with people of diverse backgrounds.
• Previous customer service, sales or related experience.
• Basic knowledge of computers.
• Basic mathematical skills.

Responsibilities

• Handle front desk operations including phone calls, emails, and registrations.
• Provide accurate information on schedules, costs, programs, and facility details.
• Input memberships and registrations into the system and process dues/fees.
• Assist with membership and program sales and drive member retention.
• Maintain lobby traffic flow and uphold safety and policy procedures.
• Assist in training new staff and maintaining cleanliness and safety.
