Job summary

Ultipro is hiring a Membership Representative to support the work of the Y, providing excellent service to members, guests, and program participants. You will conduct tours, sell memberships, and help connect people with programs and volunteers.

You will maintain lobby cleanliness and organization, respond to member needs, and handle administrative tasks at the membership desk with accuracy and attention to detail.

Qualifications

• Requires a minimum of a High School Diploma or GED.
• Prefer a minimum of 6 months customer service, sales, or related experience.
• Certifications required within the first week of hire: Redwoods Bloodborne Pathogens and Hazardous Communications.
• Certifications required within the first 60 days of hire: YMCA approved basic life saving skills (CPR, First Aid, AED, Emergency Oxygen).
• Excellent interpersonal and problem solving skills.
• Ability to relate effectively to diverse groups of people from all social and economic segments of the community.
• Must be able to word process at 45 wpm and have working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite.
• Must become proficient within 30 days in the use of ActiveNet.

Responsibilities

• Responds to the individual needs of the other person.
• Provides excellent service to members, guests, and program participants in person and on the phone, contributing to member retention.
• Conducts interviews and/or tours responsive to the needs of prospective members; sells memberships.
• Develops and maintains positive relationships with volunteers and members and helps members connect with one another and the Y.
• Serves others by welcoming, connecting, and supporting members, and inviting them to get involved and give back to the community.
• Handles and resolves membership concerns and informs supervisor of unusual situations or unresolved issues.
• Applies all YMCA policies dealing with member services.
• May hand out locker keys and towels; may monitor locker rooms as required.
• Provides administrative support to the membership desk: inputting new memberships, looking up accounts, inputting scholarship subsidies/3rd-party billing, updating accounts.
• Keeps informed of all branch activities & schedules to provide exceptional member service.
• Accepts donations and YPartners Campaign contributions, manages daily till and end-of-shift controls for audit.
• Performs other duties as assigned by supervisor.
