Job summary

The YMCA of San Diego County is seeking a Member Services Representative to build positive relationships among members, participants, volunteers, and staff, aiming to increase membership. Qualifications

• 6+ months of sales and relationship-building experience preferred.
• Passion, enthusiasm, and commitment to the mission and cause of the YMCA.
• Enthusiastic personality with the desire to serve members, volunteers, guests, participants and staff to create a culture of service within our centers.
• Conflict resolution skills, and ability to demonstrate sound judgment and initiative.

Responsibilities

• Model the YMCA values in all position responsibilities and interactions with members.
• Promote membership and programs and serve as an advocate for the YMCA.
• Monitor facility access and check-ins; ensure accurate check-in records.
• Answer incoming calls courteously and route to appropriate staff.
• Engage in active listening to understand members' goals and assist in achieving them.
• Maintain knowledge of branch programs to communicate with members.
• Greet, interview, and tour prospective members using engagement techniques.
• Process membership sales, upgrades/downgrades, and renewals accurately.
• Conduct member engagement for inquiries and tours that do not join.
• Conduct member retention and communications regarding debt collection and renewals.
• Process insufficient payment transactions and membership cancellations to retain members.
• Implement and communicate all membership marketing campaigns and promotions.
• Connect members to programs and services; process enrollments to increase utilization.
• Process cash transactions in accordance with policies; balance at shift end.
• Follow YMCA policies and inform staff of safety concerns.
