YMCA of San Diego County is hiring a Member Services Representative in Mission Valley, San Diego. The role focuses on building positive relationships with members, answering inquiries, promoting memberships and programs, and ensuring smooth check-ins and cash handling.

Must be available 3:00pm–11:00pm on weekdays and able to work weekends and holidays. Candidates should provide excellent customer service, engage with members to understand goals, and guide them to appropriate programs.

Qualifications

• 6+ months of sales and relationship-building experience preferred.
• Passion, enthusiasm, and commitment to YMCA mission.
• Enthusiastic personality with desire to serve members, volunteers, guests and staff.
• Conflict resolution skills and sound judgment.
• Experience with basic Windows-based applications.
• Basic math, grammar, and spelling skills to complete transactions.

Responsabilités

• Model YMCA values of caring, honesty, respect and responsibility in actions and conversation with members.
• Educate members that YMCA is a non-profit charitable organization.
• Promote membership and programs and serve as an advocate for YMCA.
• Monitor facility access; ensure members check-in on arrival.
• Answer all incoming calls courteously and route to appropriate departments.
• Engage with members to understand goals and assist in achieving them.
• Maintain knowledge of branch and programs to share information with members.
• Greet, interview, and tour prospective members using cause-driven sales techniques.
• Process membership sales, upgrades/downgrades, and renewals accurately.
• Conduct member engagement and conversion efforts for inquiries and tours that did not join.
• Retain members through retention and communication efforts and debt collection.
• Process branch payments and ensure cash handling per policies.
• Process program enrollments and transfers with accuracy.
• Build positive member relationships and support fundraising campaigns.
• Assist scholarship applications and data entry; complete end-of-shift procedures.
