Job summary

Georgia’s Own Credit Union in Conyers, GA seeks a Universal Banker I to blend teller duties with sales, delivering exceptional member service and guiding customers to suitable products. You’ll open accounts, process deposits and loan applications, and resolve issues while promoting the credit union experience.

Requirements include a high school diploma (Bachelor’s degree preferred) and 1–3 years in financial services or retail, plus strong communication and math skills.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent years of experience.
• Bachelor’s degree preferred.
• 1–3 years in a financial branch environment or comparable in financial/retail.
• Able to cover at other branches and rotate Saturdays.
• Strong written and verbal communication with members.
• Experience with loan applications and internal policies.
• Knowledge of industry offers, market trends and lending policies.
• Ability to interpret financial data and perform math calculations.
• Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint experience.
• Must pass background check (credit, drug screen, bondability, criminal).

Responsibilities

• Greet members and provide welcoming, connected service in person, by phone, or digitally.
• Receive and process deposits, withdrawals, loan/credit card payments, and other transactions.
• Balance cash drawers and maintain accurate records per teller standards.
• Handle problems and complaints in compliance with policies and procedures.
• Operate branch technology (ATMs, cash recyclers, debit cards, scanners, ITMs).
• Support audits and regulatory compliance while following risk management practices.
• Open and close consumer and business accounts.
• Assist members with account maintenance and loan documentation.
• Notarize documents if authorized and process loan applications.
• Identify member needs and recommend appropriate deposit and loan products.
• Collaborate with specialists to provide solutions for members’ financial goals.
• Document member interactions in the IRM system and follow up timely.
• Explain services and the credit union difference to members.
