Job summary

Fleet Data Centers is seeking a Senior Principal Data Center Design Engineer to lead the design, standardization, and scaling of mega-scale data center campuses. You will guide cross-functional engineering teams to establish configurations and integration strategies for cloud and AI operations worldwide.

The ideal candidate has 10+ years in engineering, with 8+ in hyperscale data center design, and strong communication to present to leadership and clients.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, architecture, or related field; advanced degree preferred.
• 10+ years of engineering experience with at least 8 years in hyperscale data center design.
• Proven track record leading multi-site data center projects.
• Strong communication skills with ability to translate complex concepts to diverse stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Architect global data center designs and enforce engineering standards.
• Create and review complex site campus masterplans and high-density layouts.
• Lead cross-functional design groups across electrical, mechanical, structural, controls, and networking.
• Own engineering due diligence for new site selection.
• Collaborate with vendors and design consultants to review submittals.
• Present technical strategies to senior leadership and authorities.
