Job summary

Fleet Data Centers seeks a Senior Principal Data Center Design Engineer to lead the technical authority behind mega-scale campus development. You will guide cross-functional engineering teams to set standard configurations, baseline architectures, and system integration strategies for cloud and AI operations globally.

You will champion innovations across architectural, structural, civil, mechanical, and electrical disciplines, ensuring compliance with international codes while driving density

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Architecture, or related technical field (master’s or Ph.D. highly preferred).
• 10+ years of progressive engineering experience, with at least 8 years focused on hyperscale data center architecture and integration.
• Proven track record leading engineering and design for large multi-site data center projects.
• Strong communication skills; ability to present complex engineering concepts clearly to technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Architect master vision for global data center designs and enforce engineering standards.
• Create and review complex site masterplans and high-density infrastructure layouts.
• Lead cross-functional design workgroups across electrical, mechanical, structural, controls, and networking teams.
• Conduct engineering due diligence for site selection, assess constraints and local code variations.
• Collaborate with vendors and consultants to review submittals and ensure compliance with specifications.
• Serve as chief technical point of contact for complex engineering decisions with senior leadership and clients.
