Job summary

Aligned Data Centers seeks a Senior Design Manager to lead major technical programs for colocation and hyperscale builds. You will oversee preconstruction, design, and construction phases, coordinating with architects, consultants, and GCs to ensure on-time delivery and budgets.

The role requires 9+ years in commercial construction design management, strong Excel/Smartsheets/AutoCAD skills, and leadership capabilities. Travel up to 25% may be required; data center experience is highly preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or equivalent.
• 9+ years of progressive experience managing commercial construction project design programs, with data center experience strongly preferred.
• Mechanical/Electrical background preferred.
• Advanced experience in Excel, Smartsheets and/or AutoCAD.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to multi-task, with strong time and change management/organizational skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead major technical programs for colocation and hyperscale builds.
• Drive projects from inception through customer turnover, focusing on preconstruction and design phases.
• Coordinate with architects, consultants, equipment providers, GCs and CM to ensure design deliverables meet requirements.
• Oversee budget/cost models for design phases and timelines; prepare quarterly updates for leadership.
• Interface with customers during fit-out design, construction and integration to deliver on contracts.
