Job summary

Boston Medical Center in Boston, MA, is seeking a Patient Care Technician to join the 6 East MedSurgical unit. You will work under RN supervision providing direct clinical and support services to patients and families, contributing to a patient-centered care model and collaborative team environment.

The role is 36 hours per week on nights with every other weekend and holiday, requiring BLS/CPR certification, a high school diploma, and the ability to pass competency testing.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• BLS/CPR certification current or within 30 days of employment.
• Ability to pass clinical competency testing.
• Physical ability to meet job responsibilities.
• Basic math and computer proficiency.
• One of: 1 year PCT experience in acute hospital; nursing program progress with two clinical rotations; PCT training; certified medical assistant training; EMT/field medic experience (adult ED).
• Fluency in another language is a plus.
• Previous medical/surgical experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform delegated patient care interventions for MedSurg patients and families.
• Clinical tasks include vital signs, bathing/feeding, wound care, hygiene, room and linen care, and emotional support.
• Maintain safe, clean, and properly equipped environment in MedSurg.
• Support efficient department operations and positive patient/family outcomes.
