The Field Service Engineer, Medium Voltage at SMA America is a field-based role serving the Central region, with Houston, TX as a focal point. A company truck is provided for site travel; travel across the Central region is expected and some travel nationwide.

This posting covers Level I–III with placement and compensation determined during interviews based on experience and certifications. SMA provides MV certification sponsorship, inverter training, and a defined technical career path.

Qualifications

• Early in your medium voltage career and coming from utility scale inverter commissioning, substation work, transformer service, military electrical service, or an electrical trade.
• Seasoned MV tech who leads crews and owns complex troubleshooting.

Responsibilities

• Testing, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of SMA Medium Voltage systems in the field.
• Handle MV escalations for SMA customers and suppliers.
• Support warranty repairs, technical support, and thorough testing of MV products.
