Job summary

SMA America is seeking a Field Service Engineer, Medium Voltage, Central region (San Antonio, TX). The role covers testing, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of SMA Medium Voltage systems in the field.

Significant regional travel, company truck provided, and extensive MV training and certification are offered. Position supports three levels with compensation set to the level placed, requiring MV experience and ability to work nonstandard hours when needed.

Qualifications

• At least 1 year in electrical/electrical utility/field service roles.
• Exposure to MV equipment such as transformers, switchgear, terminations or substation work.

Responsibilities

• Participates in daily site safety briefings and hazard mitigation.
• Performs testing, inspection, maintenance, and repair of SMA MV systems in the field.
• Conducts DGA sampling and applies results to determine actions.
• Maintains accurate documentation and field service reports.
• Supports travel to customer sites and on-site coordination with customers.
