Qualifications

• Experience as a call center representative or patient service representative.
• Knowledge of business English, medical terminology, spelling, punctuation, vocabulary, filing, and general office methods.
• Familiarity with CMS, Medicare, and BFCC-QIO programs.
• MS Word and MS Excel proficiency.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Attention to detail.
• Interpersonal and problem-solving skills.
• Knowledge of medical terminology and medical record documentation.
• Ability to work independently and organize multiple tasks.

Responsibilities

• Informs Medicare beneficiaries and other interested parties of their rights and responsibilities.
• Triages beneficiary calls and handles case intake.
• Staffs the Medicare Helpline as required.
• Maintains accurate mailing lists and coordinates mailings.
• Enters data into software applications timely and accurately.
• Prepares correspondence to physicians, facilities, and other healthcare organizations.
• Assists in ISO audits preparation.
• Protects confidentiality under HIPAA and HITECH.
