Job summary

Qualifications

• Experience as a call center representative or patient service representative with knowledge of medical terminology.
• Working knowledge of healthcare provider business and medical record documentation.
• Familiarity with CMS, Medicare, BFCC-QIO programs.
• Association degree or higher in health information management or related field or equivalent experience.
• Strong written and oral communication skills.
• Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel; ability to organize data.

Responsibilities

• Inform Medicare beneficiaries of rights and responsibilities.
• Assist with timely review processes per contract and QIO manual.
• Serve as neutral liaison for beneficiaries and families.
• Inform stakeholders about QIO activities and responsibilities.
• Prepare correspondence to physicians, facilities, and organizations.
• Maintain accurate mailing lists and data entry in software systems.
• Support ISO audits and HIPAA/HITECH confidentiality requirements.
• Handle multiple tasks in a team environment.
