Job summary

Oak Street Health is seeking a Patient Relations Analyst to educate patients about Medicare programs and insurance options, enhancing access to care and retention. The PRA will navigate insurance choices, assist with bills, and advocate for patients within the clinic team.

Open enrollment periods are a focus, with the PRA reporting to the Associate Patient Relations Manager or Practice Manager. This is a full-time role offering benefits and opportunities to improve patient experiences.

Qualifications

• Proficient with basic computer programs (Gmail, Word, Excel, Google Docs).
• US work authorization required to perform the role.
• Experience explaining insurance options to patients is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Assist patients with navigating Medicare and insurance issues, including coverage, benefits, summaries, eligibility and maximizing plan benefits.
• Serve as an in-clinic resource for insurance questions for providers and staff.
• Help patients navigate the healthcare system and resolve medical bills, advocating for the patient.
• Build trust with patients to advise on healthcare coverage options.
• Manage welcome visits and orientation for new Oak Street Health patients.
• Educate patients on applying for public benefits such as Medicaid and Extra Help for prescription drugs.
• Support clinic management with scheduling and billing as needed.
• Provide exceptional customer service and foster patient engagement through events and center tours.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
