Job summary

UMass Memorial Health is seeking a laboratory technologist in the Microbiology Lab. The role involves performing routine and complex tests, ensuring specimen integrity, and maintaining equipment per SOPs.

The position emphasizes accuracy, teamwork, and adherence to safety standards within a large health system. The successful candidate will hold a Bachelor's degree in a clinical laboratory science field and MT (ASCP) certification, with at least 1 year of clinical microbiology experience

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in chemical, physical, biological, clinical laboratory science, or medical technology.
• MT (ASCP) certification is required or preferred.
• Strong knowledge of laboratory testing and quality control procedures.

Responsibilities

• Performs routine and complex laboratory tests across departments to provide accurate results.
• Assesses specimen acceptability and maintains specimen integrity.
• Operates laboratory equipment according to SOPs and documents maintenance.
