Job summary

You will support patient care by efficient testing, troubleshooting equipment, and assisting in data collection for regulatory compliance. May teach staff and perform phlebotomy as needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Medical Technology or related field required.
• Passing score on the Clinical Laboratory Technology Proficiency exam approved by HHS (HEW) required.
• 0-2 years of acute care experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Performs moderate and high complexity laboratory tests accurately and efficiently.
• Adheres to quality control procedures and takes corrective actions as needed.
• Conducts instrument checks and preventative maintenance per policy.
• Troubleshoots instrument malfunctions and notifies appropriate personnel.
• Ensures safety regulations and PPE usage according to Laboratory Safety Plan.
• Communicates test results and issues to staff and supervisors.
• Assists with proficiency testing and regulatory data collection.
• Collects chain-of-custody urine drug screens and performs phlebotomy as required.
• Collaborates with team to ensure shift duties are completed accurately.
