Job summary

Northside Hospital, an award-winning and state-of-the-art health system in the Atlanta area, is seeking a Medical Technologist II to develop and monitor test systems, and to perform and interpret laboratory tests for diverse patient groups.

The role requires MT/MLS/CLS certification eligibility (ASCP/NCA/AMT/AAB/HHS), Bachelor's or Associate degrees in lab science, and at least one year of clinical lab experience. A color acuity screening is required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in lab science and eligible for a certification exam (ASCP/NCA/AMT/AAB/HHS).
• Associate degree in laboratory science and certification as Medical Technologist/MLs/CLS.
• Graduate of a Military Program in Science with MT/MLS/CLS certification.
• Grandfathered Medical Technologist with current MT/MLS/CLS certification (as of Feb 28, 1992).
• One year experience in a clinical laboratory.
• Must submit to a Color-Acuity screening Test.

Required

• Bachelor’s degree in a chemical, physical, biological or clinical laboratory science or medical technology from an accredited institution and applicants must be eligible for an appropriate certification examination.
  • Acceptable certifying agencies include: ASCP, NCA, AMT, AAB, HHS (HEW)
• Associates Degree in laboratory science (Chemical or Biological Science) or medical laboratory technology from an accredited institution and certification as a Medical Technologist, Medical Laboratory Scientist or Clinical Laboratory Scientist.
  • Acceptable certifying agencies include: ASCP, NCA, AMT, AAB, HHS (HEW)
• Graduate of a Military Program in Science (health science, biology, chemical, physical, medical technology) and certification as a Medical Technologist, Medical Laboratory Scientist or Clinical Laboratory Scientist.
  • Acceptable certifying agencies include: ASCP, NCA, AMT, AAB, HHS (HEW)
• Grandfathered Medical Technologist by having previously qualified as a technologist on or before February 28, 1992 and current certification as a Medical Technologist, Medical Laboratory Scientist or Clinical Laboratory Scientist.
  • Acceptable certifying agencies include ASCP, NCA, AMT, AAB, HHS (HEW)
• One (1) year experience in a clinical laboratory
• Ability to implement and perform clinical laboratory procedures according to proper standards and regulations.
• Must submit to a Color-Acuity screening Test
