Job summary

Northside Hospital is seeking a skilled laboratory professional to perform and interpret tests across neonatal to geriatric patients, ensuring accurate results.

Candidates must have a relevant degree, be eligible for board certification, and complete a color-acuity screening. Preferred are prior clinical lab experience with strong regulatory awareness.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a chemical, physical, biological or clinical laboratory science or medical technology from an accredited institution and applicants must be eligible for an appropriate certification examination.
• Acceptable certifying agencies include: ASCP, NCA, AMT, AAB, HHS (HEW)
• Associates Degree in laboratory science or medical laboratory technology and certification as Medical Technologist, Medical Laboratory Scientist or Clinical Laboratory Scientist.
• Acceptable certifying agencies include: ASCP, NCA, AMT, AAB, HHS (HEW)
• Graduate of a Military Program in Science with certification as Medical Technologist/Scientist.
• Grandfathered Medical Technologist with current certification as Medical Technologist/Scientist.
• Ability to implement and perform clinical laboratory procedures according to proper standards and regulations.
• Must submit to a Color-Acuity screening Test.
• Preferred: Experience in a Clinical Laboratory Setting.

Responsibilities

• Performs and interprets laboratory tests in the Clinical Laboratory for the diagnosis and care of neonate, pediatric, adolescent, adult and geriatric patients.

REQUIRED

OR

1. Associates Degree in laboratory science (Chemical or Biological Science) or medical laboratory technology from an accredited institution and certification as a Medical Technologist, Medical Laboratory Scientist or Clinical Laboratory Scientist.
   1. Acceptable certifying agencies include: ASCP, NCA, AMT, AAB, HHS (HEW)

OR

1. Graduate of a Military Program in Science (health science, biology, chemical, physical, medical technology) and certification as a Medical Technologist, Medical Laboratory Scientist or Clinical Laboratory Scientist. 1.Acceptable certifying agencies include ASCP, NCA, AMT, AAB, HHS (HEW)

OR

1. Grandfathered Medical Technologist by having previously qualified as a technologist on or before February 28, 1992 and current certification as a Medical Technologist, Medical Laboratory Scientist or Clinical Laboratory Scientist. 1. Acceptable certifying agencies include ASCP, NCA, AMT, AAB, HHS (HEW)
